Grace & Jacob Tied the Knot at House on the Metolius
Pink, Green, and the Metolius River: Grace & Jacob’s Wedding at House on the Metolius
Some couples spend months searching for a venue. For Grace and Jacob, it took one look. Jacob found House on the Metolius, and the moment he saw it, he knew it was where they would get married.
It’s easy to see why. The property is beautiful, but for Jacob the clincher was the Metolius River running right through it. He’s an avid fly fisherman, so a wedding on these grounds meant marrying Grace in a place he already loved.
A Week on the River
Grace and Jacob stayed on site the week of the wedding, and their guests joined them. In the days leading up to the ceremony, many of them got out on the river together. Grace calls it “such a special moment,” and it turned a single day into a week with the people they love.

A Dress Made for the Setting
Grace’s dress had long lace sleeves and a skirt with soft movement, which felt formal against the natural beauty around her. In the photo above, the skirt and train catch the evening breeze as she crosses the meadow, with the river and the mountains behind her. The look was elegant and polished without fighting the landscape.
Pink and Green Against the Woods
Grace chose pink and green, a pairing she has always loved. She was excited to see how bright pink would look against the venue’s natural, organic feel. The bridesmaids wore blush-pink satin gowns with high slits, and the groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos with bow ties. Against the grass and the tall ponderosa pines, the pink stood out.

Dinner by Bow Tie Catering
The day had amazing food, and Bow Tie Catering handled it. Dinner was served at tables dressed in crisp white linens, sage napkins, and soft pink florals. In the golden evening light, guests passed plates around the table, including a fresh tomato salad with mozzarella and herbs. Sharing dinner this way suited a wedding built around the people there.

What Mattered Most
Grace said her favorite part of the day wasn’t any single detail. The venue, the food, the flowers, and the photographers who captured it all were wonderful, but in her words, “it was the people surrounding Jacob and I that truly made the day.”
